Ian started in the business as a guitar player in dirt rock bands in Toledo, OH. He moved to Phoenix, AZ, in 1995 to try my luck as a stagehand for the professional touring bands. He’s worked any manner of gigs while there, from corporate shows at the resorts, to stadium shows at the college, American football stadiums, and MLB ballparks. He loved working the shows at a local amphitheater and worked with the touring backline guys. He would watch the guitar techs and ask questions. Some of the crew was very helpful in showing him guitar & bass setup and maintenance. He got his shot at touring with Slayer. One of the guitarists lived in Phoenix, and a stagehand friend lived with him. He claims he owes all to that guitarist and my good friend Norm. After that tour, he hasn’t stopped touring for 25+ years. He loves his job and is blessed to have worked with artists of all kinds, traveling the world in the process.
